Here is your best shot
This, obviously, is not a food post.
One fine weekend, I met a wonderful set of people who, like me, enjoy good food—and love taking photos (…or have their photos taken). After servings of my garlic fried rice and scrambled eggs (recipe soon!), we agreed to have a photo shoot. Fast forward to the last week of July, and my model wanna-be aspirations came to life. We particularly planned to have my portraits taken for my food blog, and after several shots, in Tyra Bank’s words, “Here is my best shot.”
My most heartfelt thanks to Ja Fernandez for capturing The Gourmand’s Table in this wonderful portrait. And of course, to Irene De La Merced for being the glue that brought us together—and for serving our very eager personal assistant on the day of the shoot. 😛
As with many other food bloggers out there, I am no chef. I come with no culinary training whatsoever, and so it’s not at all surprising that my kitchen adventures are punctuated by frequent mishaps and blunders. Yet, there are recipes that I seem to make much better than others. And so, after years of prodding from family and friends, here I am, sharing the little that I know.
Why “gourmand,” you ask? Simply because I like making and eating good food. I can eat a lot, too—so there you go!
